My work focuses on the relationship between light and dark and how this can create mood and nostalgia.
I paint from life, ‘en plein air’ and also from my studio located in East Yorkshire.
Working in oils, I like to create work in one sitting and not overthink or overwork a particular piece.
Having originally trained at London’s Central Saint Martins College in fashion design, I eventually moved on to pursue a full time career as a painter.
I spent the year as Artist in Residence at Lincoln Cathedral between 2016-2017. My year ended with an exhibition of 51 paintings, 45 of which sold.
In June 2019 my solo show of 60 paintings was displayed at Doddington Hall, Lincolnshire. I worked as Artist in residence from October 2018 - May 2019.

Here is a short extract of Dominic following one of his other passions, playing violin in the Chapterhouse at Lincoln Cathedral during his time as artist in residence.
